Benchmarking

Benchmarking through the US EPA Energy Star program gives building owners a quantitative and tangible measure for how their existing commercial building “stacks up” against others. Our engineers at Navigreen work with clients to obtain comprehensive building utility usage information - specifically electricity, fossil fuels, and water - review facility construction and operations, and submit that data to the EPA. What comes back is a Building Score between 0 and 100, with building achieving a score of 70 or higher being eligible for Energy Star Certification. Benchmarking is not exclusive to one state, and buildings from all across the country can be benchmarked through Energy Star!

Energy Star Certification is a valuable and visible tool that building owners can use to show their commitment to sustainability and efficient design to their customers, their tenants, and the public! The EPA provides an annual re-certification mark that can be placed on building frontage to maximize visibility. Navigreen is an Energy Star Partner and excels at the benchmarking of existing buildings.
