Energy and Water Audits
An Energy and Water Audit is a comprehensive inspection and inventory of all energy and water usage within a building. Navigreen has engineers with robust experience in this field, helping clients to:
Meet requirements of local and state energy efficiency incentive programs;
Comply with requirements of Green Building Programs (ie LEED);
Compare client buildings to those of its peers to increase competitiveness;
Identify and address poor asset performance across a portfolio of properties;
Outline a roadmap to lowering usage and increasing overall sustainability;
Navigreen will survey any applicable facilities to comprehensively inventory energy and water usage, and can recommend potential Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) which would reduce both usage and costs to the building. Budgetary costs and estimated energy and cost savings will be provided for each ECM, allowing clients to determine the best and most effective means to achieve their sustainability and cost-reduction goals. Once audited, buildings can also be benchmarked against their peers with the US EPA Portfolio Manager system, helping to visualize how a given building compares to others in the area.
The Navigreen team’s extensive experience with a variety of rebate and incentive programs allow us help maximize state and local funding obtained for planned improvements.
ASHRAE Energy Audit Standards
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is a professional organization at the forefront of this industry that has outlined descriptions of different levels of energy audits, based on comprehensiveness. The three most common ASHRAE audits are:
Level I – Provide a walk-through survey and high-level energy analysis
Level II – Provide a detailed energy and water utility bill analysis
Level III – Provide a detailed analysis of capital-intensive modifications including costs, savings, and payback
